My work focuses on connecting with my community during the COVID-19 pandemic by emulating Joe Pugliese’s “Social Distancing Portraits”. By taking a large focal length lens, I am able to keep a safe distance away from my subjects while still being able to interact. This work opens a small window into the world of different peoples during the COVID-19 pandemic and allows both myself, and my community, to interact safely while capturing intimate moments in front of their homes. I am able to serve my community by checking in on members to discover how they are living during this difficult time and to capture a glimpse of the highs and lows that come with social distancing and isolation.
